If you live and work in this city, you already know that Friday evening carries a very specific routine. You finally shut your laptop after a completely exhausting week of tech park meetings, spend thirty minutes trying to find a cab that will not cancel your ride, and immediately start looking for a place to grab a cold pint. The culture around breweries in bangalore is massive. It is not just a weekend trend or a passing phase. It is basically the primary way people survive the hustle of the Outer Ring Road and the daily gridlock.
With massive new spots opening up on almost every single corner, finding the best breweries in bangalore can actually feel a bit overwhelming. A lot of the newer places seem to focus more on the aesthetic lighting for social media rather than the actual liquid pouring out of their taps. But if you are someone who really cares about what is in your glass, you know that the true beer places in bangalore are the ones that prioritize the brewing process, the physical space, and the local community. That is exactly the foundation we built Biergarten on back in 2016.
A Culture Built for the Locals
For actual craft beer enthusiasts, a good brewery is entirely about consistency, character, and fresh ingredients. You want a place where the brewers actually take their time, respect the traditional process, and serve something memorable. Our journey started in Whitefield. The local tech crowd and neighborhood residents immediately connected with our fresh brews. We were the first to introduce the bold Weizenbock style to the city, serving it right alongside our classic Hefeweizen, which instantly became a massive crowd favorite.
As the city grew, we expanded right along with it. We brought our massive, open air beer garden vibe to Koramangala in 2018. We completely understood that people living in the heart of the city needed a leafy backyard escape right in their own neighborhood. By 2023, we took the culture to Manyata so the massive workforce in North Bangalore could finally get a proper pint without having to drive an hour south through heavy traffic. Most recently in 2024, we launched our Bellandur location. It is our greenest, most spacious spot yet, designed entirely for those slow weekend lunches and late nights that you desperately need after a brutal week of work.
The Pints That Speak for Themselves
If you consider yourself part of the serious crowd of beer enthusiasts, you already know that our taps tell a very human story. We take immense pride in our brewing process, especially with our Local Grains Project that uses heritage barley and native millets to create new age styles. But the real soul of our craft beer lies in the highly specific stories behind the names.
Nik’s 9 to 5 is a crisp, clean Pilsner. Nik is a regular who traded his lucky guitar for a highly stressful career in day trading. Between his intense meetings and family check ins, his chaotic day always ends with a fresh pilsner. He stays up raving until five in the morning, making this energetic beer a perfect match for his lifestyle.
Code Reddy is our signature Red Ale. Getting an invite into the local Reddy clan is notoriously tough because you have to prove you are worthy of their inner circle. This Red Ale shares that exact exclusive vibe. It is rich, full of complex flavors, and totally worth the hype once you finally get a taste. You just have to whisper the code to the staff.
Lucky Strike is a completely unique Smoked Lager. Lucky was a vegetarian with an amazing palate who absolutely loved the art of brewing. He experimented with zero fear and discovered a very smooth, distinct smoky flavor that makes this lager stand out from everything else we pour on tap.
Kohli’s Climax is our dark Dunkel Lager. Kohli just wanted to throw a massive, spectacular New Year’s Eve party, but her grand plans fell totally flat. The only thing that saved her night was the deep, comforting warmth of this dark beer, giving her anti climatic story a very happy ending.
Nina’s Nightmare is a bold Weizenbock. Nina is a total troublemaker who stood right by the bar, drinking heavy Weizenbocks and proudly telling everyone that women can handle the strongest drinks on the menu. The wild stories from that night are still floating around our staff today.
Rishi’s Accent is our house IPA. Rishi went to the United Kingdom for three short weeks and came back to his group speaking in a terrible, forced British accent. His friends immediately gave him the silent treatment. This hoppy, pleasantly bitter IPA captures that exact sharp bite perfectly.
Oopsie Daisy is our classic Hefeweizen. Daisy is the ultimate friend and the life of the party. But after a few too many wheat beers one night, a few arguments started and she made a very quiet exit, whispering oopsie as she left. It is a bright, fun, and incredibly easy beer for a sunny afternoon.
Perfect Beer Pairings
We believe that the right meal can elevate the entire profile of a brew. For instance, the crisp bitterness of our house IPA, Rishi’s Accent, perfectly cuts through the richness of our smoky tandoori platters. Meanwhile, the light, fruity notes of the Oopsie Daisy Hefeweizen are a natural match for our spicy curries, creating a balance that cleanses the palate with every sip.
For those enjoying a heavier Weizenbock like Nina’s Nightmare, we recommend our authentic German sausages or hearty house-made pastas to provide a robust base. Every item on our menu is curated to ensure that your choice of food works in harmony with the liquid in your glass. You can explore these curated pairings in our full food and drink guide online.
Real Community Events
We also believe in keeping things interesting. Back in 2018, we launched our T&E Series. This stands for Trial and Error, which is a rotating showcase of small batch, highly experimental brews driven purely by curiosity. It is the perfect reason to keep coming back to see what is new.
We also host massive cultural events that bring the city together. Our annual Oktoberfest is a massive homage to Munich, complete with traditional steins, heavy food, and an all day Bavarian vibe. Our Karnataka Food Festival is a delicious tribute to our local roots, pairing traditional regional dishes with our house beers. And when the year wraps up, our New Year’s Eve parties are legendary, featuring an unlimited buffet and flowing drinks.
We also organize regular beer explainer events, where our head brewers walk guests through the technical nuances of our different styles, explaining the science and art behind every pour for those who want a deeper connection with their drink.
Secure Your Spot
Out of all the beer places in bangalore, we like to think we have built an environment that feels like a second home for our regulars. The loud groups cracking jokes, the solo readers sitting quietly, and the people who pull up a chair at a communal table and stay for three hours are the exact reason we keep doing this. If you want to grab your friends and experience one of the absolute best breweries in bangalore this week, come pull up a chair.
We keep our doors open from Monday to Friday between 12 PM and 12 AM, and we extend the hours on Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 1 AM.
Since the tables fill up incredibly fast, especially when the weather cools down in the evening, using our reservations link to secure your spot is always the smartest move. Step out of the traffic, grab a cold glass, and stay a while.
